April Danbi Son is a Korean American writer & director based between NYC, Copenhagen and Barcelona.
Her writing explores late coming-of-age stories through an unhinged, dark comedy lens — often balancing existential dread with levity.
Sinners, her dark comedy TV pilot, recently won the The Script Lab competition (2024). Gwisin, her short film, won Silver for the Young Director Award, Dreampitch category, as part of the Cannes Lions Festival (2024). She was selected for Coverfly’s Writer Development Program (2024).
